Gather and Mend

$235.00

Sometimes mending begins before we know how the story will end.

Gather and Mend grew from a decision to heal on purpose, whatever happened next. I was sewing these hearts together during the last day I spent with someone I loved very much. Whether he stayed or left, I knew I had to gather myself and tend to my hurts and patterns before they swallowed me whole.

Real thread passes through the paper, physically joining the hearts. The act of stitching became part of the meaning: each small movement gave my hands a way to follow through on that decision.

Layered printed papers, deep red hearts, and green leafy stems hold that moment. For me, this piece marks the beginning of taking responsibility for my own healing while the outcome was still uncertain.
