Moon Shine
Mixed Media on Arches | 5.5 x 8.5
This piece is inspired by a profound quote from Edward Bulwer-Lytton: “Every man who observes vigilantly and resolves steadfastly, grows unconsciously into genius.”
The gnarled tree with its many eyes is a symbol of the wisdom that comes from attentive observation, both of the world around us and the world within. As the tree’s branches reach out, its energy expands into the heavens, with the ladder leading to the moon, offering a path to higher understanding.
The whooshing white energy represents the flow of healing and magical force that touches us when we are open to the universe. The leaves, too, have eyes—tiny symbols of perception and the awareness that guides us along the journey of growth and transformation. The shallow roots remind us that we are always evolving, even when our foundations may seem fragile.
For me, "Moonshine" is a reminder that wisdom comes quietly, and we grow into our true potential with patience, observance, and openness to the magical forces around us.
